PREMISE
This city has a mind of its own as if it's a living, breathing entity, and it rewards the strong while disposing of the weak or faint of heart. On the surface it seems to be a sprawling and ancient world that resembles London during the Victorian era, but just beneath that it's darker, and far more dangerous. Blackstone holds so many secrets that one can almost feel them vibrating in the air, and yet the natives have stopped looking for answers because some answers, they've found, are far worse than the curiosity that sent them searching in the first place.
Perhaps you were sleeping before you awoke on the cold and damp stone of Blackchapel Road, or maybe you were in the middle of something very important. None of it matters now that the Mists have seized you and taken you to your new home, but give us a smile; Blackstone has chosen you, and that's one of the highest honors one can receive.
Your experience here may be a leisurely one or it may not be, depending on what type of employment best suits you. Some of you will be given just enough to survive without being considered as destitute, and if you wish to climb the social ladder or find more comfortable living accommodations then you're going to have to work for it. You'll quickly find that your uncomfortable bedding is the least of your worries, as Blackstone has chosen you for far greater things. You're strong willed and powerful, perhaps not in strength but in mind, and if not that then in heart, certainly. You've been chosen to annihilate a threat that the city can foresee, perhaps in the immediate future or far down the road. Either way your presence is necessary here and although nobody can force you to act, why wouldn't you want to? If it all comes crumbling down, there's no promise that you'll be able to find your way back to the place you call home. Blackstone is your home now, and if it falls you may very well fall with it.
Blackstone is a jamjar with a mystery and suspense theme. The game is based off of the tabletop RPG Ravenloft, and you don't have to be familiar with the original content to enjoy your time here.
